This Privacy Policy explains how FilmingMap (“we“, “us“, “our“) collects, uses and protects information when you visit filmingmap.com (the “Site”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are (data controller)
FilmingMap is operated by Arturas Salivonas, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, who is the “data controller” responsible for your personal data. You can contact us about privacy at ecobra@gmail.com.
2. The information we collect
FilmingMap is an informational website. You can browse it without creating an account, and we do not ask you to provide personal information to use it. We collect:
- Information you give us voluntarily. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Usage and device data (collected automatically). When you visit, our analytics and hosting tools may record information such as your device and browser type, approximate location (derived from your IP address), the pages you view, the site you came from, and the date and time of your visit. This is used in aggregate to understand how the Site is used.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for full details, including how you can control them.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider and security/CDN provider keep standard technical logs (including IP addresses) to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Site.
We do not knowingly collect special-category (sensitive) personal data, and we do not sell your personal data.
3. How we use your information
- To operate, maintain and secure the Site;
- To understand and improve how the Site is used, through analytics;
- To respond to enquiries you send us;
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues, abuse or fraud; and
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. Our legal bases for using your data
Under UK GDPR we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent – for non-essential cookies and similar technologies, such as analytics and (in future) advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time via our cookie controls.
- Legitimate interests – for keeping the Site secure and functioning, maintaining basic technical logs, and understanding usage in aggregate, where this does not override your rights.
- Legal obligation – where we must process data to comply with the law.
5. Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 (via the Google Site Kit plugin) to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf; see Google’s Privacy Policy. Analytics cookies are only set where you have given consent.
We may in future display advertising through Google AdSense. If and when we do, advertising cookies will only be set with your consent, and we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy accordingly.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with trusted service providers (“processors”) who help us run the Site, including:
- Google (Google Analytics / Site Kit, and in future Google AdSense) – analytics and, in future, advertising;
- Our hosting provider – to serve the website;
- Cloudflare – content delivery, performance and security.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Please note that film, television and location content shown on the Site (such as titles, images and filming locations) comes from third-party open data sources described on our Attribution & Credits page. That content is not your personal data.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers (such as Google and Cloudflare) may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Analytics data is retained in aggregate for a limited period in line with our analytics settings. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and our records.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- Ask us to erase your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to our processing;
- Request portability of your data; and
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including secure hosting and encryption in transit (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Links to other sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be reflected here.
